Alasdair MacLeod

Alasdair is from the Island of Lewis, and is a graduate of Glasgow University. Alasdair spent several years as Senior Gaelic Policy Manager with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and led on the drafting and implementation of the statutory Gaelic Language Plan for the organisation.

Alasdair has high-level written Gaelic skills and provides translation for bodies including Bòrd na Gàidhlig, Scottish Natural Heritage, Forestry Commission Scotland, Stòrlann Nàiseanta na Gàidhlig and the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Facal are working with the Forestry Commission working towards delivering their Gaelic plan and providing Gaelic translation and interpretation. Alasdair has recently completed training in interpretative writing.

Alasdair is a qualified Ùlpan tutor as well as experienced in other methods of Gaelic language teaching.
